Goodman League ready to take on Drew League in a re-match: NBA Update
The National Basketball Association (NBA) locked out its players on July 1st when the NBA owners and the Players Association could not sign on the new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) within the time limit. The
labour dispute between two parties is still not resolved despite many meetings have been held so far. On the other hand, this lockout is forcing many players to play overseas. Already many NBA players have signed with several international basketball clubs.
But those who have not decided to go overseas are playing within the country in different summer leagues. These summer league events have picked-up an instant popularity among basketball lovers across the United State of America
(USA) especially since the lockout has started. Where many professional basketball players are thinking to play overseas during the lockout, there are still plenty of players who are keeping themselves busy within the country. These players are playing in
different special summer league games across the country.
The Washington, D.C. based Goodman league is ready for a re-match with Drew League on October 9th
in Los Angeles. The Long Beach State’s athletic department confirmed this re-match on Tuesday which will be played at Walter Pyramid around 6:30 p.m.
Many All-Star players will be gathering for the second time in less than two month’s time to play a Pro-Am league all-star game. These two teams had met before on Aug 20th at Trinity University in Washington D.C. where
Goodman League defeated the Drew League in a thrilling game 134-135 in front of 1500 spectators.
The re-match between Drew and Goodman League was also announced by Drew League Commissioner Dino Smiley. He left a comment on the Social media website (Twitter). “The Big Pay Back” Drew vs. Goodman Game will be at Long Beach State
University. Ticket purchases can be made online [through www.drewleague.com] and the campus box office on 9/28.”
