Goodtime Joe has a good time with an A2 victory at Perry Barr
When the greyhounds race to great results at the Perry Barr Greyhound Stadium in Birmingham, a good time will be had by all in attendance, especially those who placed the right bets. Each
480m race at the track promises an exciting finish, and the dogs always seem to deliver.
A good time was had by Goodtime Joe (4-1), as he was the winner of the A2 race. After a great start from trap six, he led third on the way to a great finishing time of 28.98. Second place
was claimed by Sawpit Samurai (4-1), who crowded the run up, and ran on to finish two lengths behind the winner in 29.14.
The Peacemonger’s (7-1) relatively peaceful pace was impeded slightly by some crowding at third, but she ran on to take third place in 29.18. She was only a ½ length out of second place.
Clonee Express, the 11-10 favourite in this race, missed out on a top-three position by a mere ½ length, despite an early pace. He also crowded the run up and led to third, completing the race in 29.22.
Fifth place went to Fabulous Tide (7-1), who moved slowly away from the pack, and ran on to a 29.28 finish that was ¾ lengths behind Clonee Express. The sixth-place finisher was Sounds
Dodgy (7-1). He lacked an early pace, and crowded third to finish in 29.32, placing him a ½ length out of the number five spot.
Tanhill Rose (9-4) rose to the occasion, and emerged victorious in an A3 race that was held shortly afterwards. She rebounded from a crowded start, and finished well with a time of 29.02.
Behind her was 7-4 favourite Moraira Ray, who placed second. He held an early pace from trap two, and crowded at the starting line, but came back to finish in 29.22, which was 2½ lengths out of the top spot.
Locking up third place was Kingsmill Arrow (4-1), who also had an early pace. A clear run led him to a 29.44 finish that placed him 2¾ lengths behind Moraira Ray. Highfire Kyle’s (7-1)
firepower wasn’t enough to land him in the top three, as he missed third place by a ½ length. He finished fourth with a time of 29.48.
Kilos Little Man (7-1) crowded fourth after moving slowly away, and ended up in the fifth position. His time of 29.56 was one length out of fourth place. Finally, Spot Abitofado (7-1)
lay claim on last place after crowding fourth, despite an early pace. He finished the race in 29.68, 1½ lengths behind fifth place.
The races at Perry Barr Greyhound Stadium are set to resume on Friday, 22 October, with the first race of the evening being called for 19:25.
