Goodwood festival of speed?

Has anyone been to the goodwood festival of speed? Is it worth going? Ive been to numerous motorshows and MPH and thought they were brilliant, especially seeing all the supercars.

it is worth going my friend,the cars are worth the trip and you get close to the action .you can get right next to the mobile garages,stands and drivers.it is all very friendly.My brother in law does all the catering at Goodwood under Main Event Catering and i have been to Goodwood many times,both for the racing and the cars.

I was a Marshall there this year, excellent, although a bit wet. It's a Hill Climb, rather than a race circuit, and you got a chance to see some real old-school racing cars and motorcycles.

My favourite was a car called "Old Mother Gun, big as a Bus and roared past like it was about to explode... and an Aston Martin LeMans car ripped it's front off right in front of my crew... i still have a piece of it's carbon fibre body somewhere.

BUT if you like historic racing, think about the Goodwood revival... Proper circuit racing with cars and bikes, plus an airshow (This year they had a Hellcat, Wildcat and Bearcat all flying in formation) and everyone dresses up in period clothes... We had a Blast.

You don't even have to go fork out for a ticket, just wander around the outside...There's not many Car parks in the world where you would see 4 1930 "Blower" Bentleys side by side ...

and as my crew was parking up our motorcycles, who should we see my Patrick Stewart (Jean Luc Picard)unpacking a Picnic basket from his car...

It's quite good yes, I put the marquees up for the event one year.

I used to live near Goodwood, beautiful place and anything they put on up there seems to do good. The dressage and the races are fantastic so I'm sure the Festival is up to par. I know that Rowan Atkinson (Mr  Bean) has driven there a few times.
