It's a type of stance. There is regular which is your left foot is in the front and your right foot is in the back binding and goofy is when your right foot is in the front and your left foot is in the back. When you first start snowboarding you decide which one is better for you. It's whatever way is more comfortable to you.

Some people are goofy, others are regular. It doesn't make a lot of difference. I'm regular.

If you are goofy on a snowboard you have your right foot forward. Regular is when you have your left foot forward it shouldn't matter because you should be able to get good enough that you can ride switch
