Google toolbar help please

HELLO!

I try to download google toolbar this morning and it say I have a error. What kind of error is it.Can it be fix.OH one more thing you no when satting at you computer on the right on top it a X but I am talking about the -- it not working how can I fix it. Will some one help PLEASE

Restart your computer

Press Start Then press Run then write cmd then press Enter then Write this chkdsk then press Enter then look it if any error on you windows that used then try it again write this chkdsk then Enter again if scanner is finish  press write exit then press Enter after Download again Google toolbar you problem will finish it then let me know thanks.
