Goonies 2? Anyone have any definite info on plans for a sequel?

I've seen on websites as recently as the end of May 2008, plans for a sequesl to the movie The Goonies. Looking for any info that anyone might have seen recently as well as comments on a possible sequel (like good or bad idea & why). Thanks!

I think it'd be a bad idea if they are doing it though. The Goonies is a classic... how could they make a sequel?!?

omg!!!!! goonies is the best movie ever!!!!!!! i am 31, and even my kids ike that movie. my sisters and i quote from that movie all the time. 'i love you chunk' . baby ruth. 50 dollar bill, 50 dollar bill. i would love nothing more than to see number 2. i hope they dont try to update it too much though, sometimes sequels are too far gone.
