Goose Creek-Faraway clinches Alligator Challenge Cup at Wellington – US Polo Update
Martin Zegers delivered one of his best performances in the season and notched six goals, as Goose Creek-Faraway overpowered Jan Pamela in the finals and clinched the title of the Alligator Challenge Cup.
The finals of the tournament turned into a real barnburner with Goose Creek emerging the victorious in a 10-9 shootout with a game against Jan Pamela. The foursome of Jan Pamela was on a high verge and after the first half it seemed that they are going to
acquire another title. It is vital to mention here that they had won the Jan Pamela Challenge, held a month back at the same International Polo Club in Wellington, city of Florida.
Jan Pamela came out and started the game in the first chukka with guns blazing as they shut down the Goose Creek attack, while scoring three unreturned goals to establish their first lead in the game. Steve Dalton and Wayne Garrison marked one goal each
in the period, while Jan Pamela received one goal by handicap and led the game with three goals, 3-0 advantage.

The strikers of Goose Creek geared up in the second last frame and received four goals, while holding Jan Pamela goal-less. Zegers scored off three penalty-shots, while Daniels added a goal from the field and took their first lead in the contest. Jan Pamela
was trailing by one score, 9-8 with one chukka left to fight.
The players of Jan Pamela attempted to make a comeback into the game, but failed to do so. Zegers and Daniels scored one goal each which were countered by a penalty shot from Manifold. With final horn of the time-completion, Goose Creek won the title-claiming
contest and as well the title of the tournament.
Owing to best performance, Martin Zegers was chosen for the MVP award, while Mancha of Manifold was honoured as the Best Playing Pony.
