Goran Dragic hits a buzzer beater as Phoenix Suns edge out Memphis Grizzlies 82-80: NBA Recap
Goran Dragic made the game winning jump shot with less than a second to go as Phoenix Suns avenged their overtime loss to  Memphis Grizzlies 8 days back, with a 82-80 win. The win also snapped a 7-game losing streak for the Suns.
"Last time, I missed the easy layup against Dallas so this time I told myself you have to make that one," Dragic said. "The play was improve for me. I play pick and roll and take that last shot."
Jared Dudley led the Suns with 15 points grabbed 9 rebounds and dished out 5 assists. He was relieved that the Suns finally won a game, he said
"We lost every possible way you can - close games, blowouts, bad teams, good teams, different ways, different lineups - and sometimes you forget how to win, Now we can start trying to get this thing rolling.”
Shannon Brown assisted him well as he also posted 15 points while Goran Dragic finished off with 12 points and 8 assists for the night.
Rudy g*y led the Grizzlies with 21 points and 11 rebounds, Zach Randolph had another day at the double-double office with 18 points and 10 rebounds - he leads the league in double-double's. Marc Gasol put up a strong defensive performance as he made 6 blocks and added 15 points for the Grizzlies.
Randolph was red hot in the first quarter; he made a jumper to put the Grizzlies up 15-9 early in the period. He scored two more deuces to have them leading 19-11 at the mid quarter mark. Memphis extended their lead to 8 points with an Arthur jump shot and were ahead on 27-21 by the end of the period.
The Grizzlies extended their lead to 31-21 early in the second quarter. Memphis maintained their advantage for a while and were up 36-25 at one stage, but the Suns came back late in the period and reduced the deficit down to 39-42 with 2:33 minutes left in the quarter.
Dragic knocked down a three pointer early in the third to tie the score on 48. It was close after that with the scores getting tied on 52, 54 and then finally on 63 as the teams headed into the last 12 minutes.
The trend continued in the last frame as well and it was all square on 80 with 46.8 seconds left on the clock. Both teams missed a host of opportunities to take the lead in the ensuing before Dragic nailed a layup with 0.5 seconds left on the clock to seal the deal for the Suns.
