Goran Ivanisevic has a feeling that Andy Murray will win a Grand Slam title soon – Tennis News
Briton No.1, Andy Murray, has played some outstanding tennis this year and clinched 5 titles to his name that earned him a place at number 3 spot for the first time in his life before he lost it back to Swiss legend, Roger Federer.
Currently he is ranked at number four in the ATP world rankings and is looking to make a terrific comeback after recovering from an injury in 2012.
His consistent performance throughout the year earned him a place in the ATO World Tour Finals tournament, contested at O2 Arena, London. But to the despair of local fans, Briton number one had to retire from the tournament after
playing just a single match due to an injury. It was a very disappointing end to an extremely promising start.
Goran Ivanisevic is an ex-Croatian tennis icon that won his first Grand Slam title in 2001, after playing three finals in nine year. It was Wimbledon 2001 and Croatian was underdog in that tournament but his courage and enthusiasm
earned him the title. Now, he says the same about World No.4, Andy Murray.
40-year-old, Croatian, He's definitely going to win a Grand Slam. I don't know when – I don't have a magic ball to see that – but next year it can happen. I said that to myself and I won." He is heading towards an ATP Champions
Tour tournament in London to defend his title at Royal Albert Hall, this weekend.
Andy Murray has the similar situation as the Croatian tennis ace as he has reached three Grand Slam finals but has not been able to have not been able to raise the Grand Slam trophy up above his head. In 2008, he reached the US
Open final; in 2010, he managed to sneak into the final of Australian Open and this year, he was the runner-up in Australian Open.
It has been a long wait for Andy Murray to lift the Grand Slam trophy but Ivanisevic believes that Murray has got something that will soon earn him his maiden Grand Slam title. Croatian said “The Australian Open and Wimbledon are
Andy's best chances of winning a Grand Slam."
It has been difficult for Andy Murray because he was up against world class players like Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in the finals of Grand Slam but time is near when he will add a Grand Slam title to his tally.Goran Ivanisevic
