The Strumica born striker revealed he had other offers to choose from but when it came to deciding which club to chose, he only had one destination in mind which was Napoli. The striker was initially on loan from the Nerazzurri,
and having impressed his bosses, his loan move was made permanent thanks to the pay cut he took to ease the move through.
Pandev was speaking to Radio Marte and stated that he was strongly in favour of a move to the Naples club as was his family. He went on to thank the club President for making it possible, as the move set back Napoli 7.5 million
euros.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 centre forward went on to state that of all the clubs he had been at, he never witnessed such camaraderie and as strong a unit as he had witnessed at any club. He was hopeful of continuing winning trophies for
the club, especially after witnessing the adoration following their win against Juventus in the Coppa Italia. He was quoted to have said:
“The Coppa Italia victory was greeted the same way as if we’d won the Champions League. I daren’t imagine what would happen if we lifted other trophies. I’ve won a lot of silverware, but the Coppa Italia with Napoli was truly special
and I experienced emotions I’ve never had in my life.”
Regarding their inability to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, Pandev stated that everyone at the club was disappointed at not being able to treat their loyal fans to this, and mentioned:
“Unfortunately, we threw away our qualification for the Champions League and our fans really deserved that tournament. Now we must prepare for the Italian Super Cup against Juventus.”
The Macedonian went on to thank his head coach, who was instrumental in his staying at the club, and he vowed to end his career at the southern Italian club, and was grateful with the support he received from the club fans upon
his arrival.
