He opened Aubergine in Glasgow a few years ago but there were problems and it closed - he was gutted.  Maybe he'll try again.

their are far better chefs than Gordon Ramsay tried and failed in No Mean City if he had given them the same menu that Rio Stakis did he would have succeeded prawn cocktail, steak, mushrooms, tomatoes, onion rings, chips and peas and black forest gateaux and a good cup o coffee that is wot made the man so good cos he listened to the common people i know i worked for him in the early 1970s ramsay is a good chef but did not do his home work that is why he failed

If you read his book "Humble Pie", in it he talks of a restaurant that he DID open in Glasgow a few years ago, but it never took off.... not enough clientele or something like that.

D'Oh - he did have one, people didnt get it! So he closed and he was quite sad about it too..youd think that in his own home town he would be a success..but people didnt support it..and it was pretty expensive too..i dont think the glaswegians were quite ready for it...
