Question:

Gordon wants to be traded from Bulls. Any ideas?

Ben Gordon has told reporters that he and the Bulls cannot agree on a contract and that he will not sign the 1 year offer and become an unrestricted free agent. The Bulls are still in need of a true center, whether he have a post game or be a big defensive threat (They should be able to get at least one or the other for Gordon). That being said, what centers should they look for and how would the deal go down (what other players are involved, if any)? BEST ANSWER WILL GET 10 POINTS- BASED ON THOUGHT PROCESS AND LIKELYHOOD OF TRADE.

  1. Gordon will not have many options to get out of Chicago, given that there really isn't much money out there, and there aren't many teams with a tradable "true center" who need a scoring guard who doesn't have the PG handling skills, and is too undersized for the 2.  That being said, there are really no realistic options where Gordon could be, besides the Euroleague if he wants a bigger paycheck in the 80+ million range.

What he should do however is consider his long term value and perhaps play for a decent team where he could make an impact and win a championship.  This can increase his value more than just being the "star of a bad team."

  2. That's a tough one because there are very few teams that have the ability to sign gordon to that lucrative contract he wants. Not to mention that not only do the bulls need a true center but they also need a power foward. They despratelly lack that inside pressence that most teams need to be contenders.

Brad miller has been mentioned in recent rumors and at this point would be the most logical trade. Unfortunately the kings already have a good point guard in beno udrih. Then again it would be a good starting point for the kings in their rebuilding phase, they would of course eventually have to trade udrih for their much needed inside pressence as well.

At this point anything can happen even overseas is a possibility for gordon, though he has said that's his last option and would prefer not to. So whatever happens at this point it's all really unknown, so when it does just be prepared if the bulls end up getting the bad end of the deal.

  3. I think Ben Gordan should go to the Lakers.

  4. I think that the Bulls should pursue the sign and trade cuz Gordon isnt gonna sign the 1 year tender offer as he said..........ive come up with quite a few trade possibilities at work and want to know what you guys ( and ladies=) ) think. I watch and know the NBA , so you arent gonna see any deals here that arent gonna happen.............. ....

1.BG to New Jersey for PF Josh Boone (8.2ppg 7.9reb 1 block) and Chris Douglas Roberts

3.BG to Milwaukee for PF Charlie Villanueva (11.7ppg 6.1reb in 24min!) and Charlie Bell..BEST TRADE BY FAR

4.BG to Atlanta for SF Marvin Williams (14.8ppg 5.7reb) and Maurice Evans...SORRY J SMITH WONT HAPPEN

5.BG to Washington for C Brendan Haywood (10.6ppg 7.2reb 1.7blk in 28min) and Dee Brown

Would have to trade Nocioni or Hughes to make this work

17.BG to Oklahoma City for PF Joe Smith (10.1ppg 5.2reb in 22min) and PF Chris Wilcox (13.4ppg 7reb in 28 min)

Like i said considering he is looking for the sign and trade these are just possibilities obviously not all trades here specificily address the teams current needs. Gordon is all about me first, no one cares that you scored 18ppg last season, we stunk and regressed badly, lets also think about all the games you cost us dribbling the ball off your leg, the misses with your streaky shooting and all the points you gave up playing NO defense. That doesnt sound like the best player to me Ben. See ya Ben....no one will miss you once your gone and you wont get another contract like Paxson generously offered you!!

  5. well, in the NBA there are rarely any good centers and this is what makes trading a center difficult.

Take for example the trade between the Indianna pacers and the Toronto raptors. Toronto had to trade 2 players ( TJ Ford, Nesterovich) just for one player: Jermaine O Neal. Firstly TJ Ford was probably one of the raptors MVP's and he was traded as well as Nesterovich. Both good players for one center.

The reason being Jermaine O Neal is a well known center, yes hes not Chris Bosh, Kevin garnett, shaquille o neal and so forth but he is an all star player and you cannot find many good centers in the NBA.

Then again Pau Gasol on the lakers was traded from the grizzlies and he wasnt well known.

A trade maybe Zydrunas Ilgauskas—Cleveland Cavaliers for Ben Gordon, this guy has a really good post game and is good on defense.

  6. I really don't see any teams going after Gordon. No NBA team has any cap room as of this point except Memphis. I doubt Memphis will go for this undersized SG when they have Mayo. Only if Isiah Thomas was still GM of the Knicks, he would trade for Gordon...

I see Gordon taking the 1 year offer or trying to look for a job overseas

  7. ben gordon for al harrington

warriors will get a good guard and bulls will get a good PF

  8. Gordan for Kobe. Kobe is so overrated the trade will work! Still I'd take Brandon Roy.

    Think Happy Thoughts!
