Gore vs. Lynch vs. L. Johnson?

Here was my decision in my draft. I was picking 10th. Didn't think I'd have all those guys to pick from. I won't say yet who I went with.

Gore has Martz as his coordinator but the 49ers offense is terrible. And he tends to not give his RB's carries. Lynch might get more carries and Td's but could get hurt. And Johnson could have a come-back year but he's coming off an injury too.

Just curious who you'd guys would pick and why? It was a tough decision.

  1. I'd go lynch, gore, than johnson. Lynch will have a great year due to a lack of good qb's and wr's. He averaged 85 yards a game last year which was in the top 7 or 8. While gore averaged 70. Which is below the top 20. Johnson is overrated anyway. I'd definantly go with lynch because he's good and will get many carries.

  2. You should've picked Lynch.  He's the most solid of those 3 choices.

Yes Gore racks up a ton of yards every year, but he doesn't get into the end zone...period.  Don't believe all they hype around Martz in San Fran now.  Gore is not a Marshall Faulk caliber player, and Stephen Jackson had his best year AFTER Martz left.  Martz didn't do anything in Detroit, so don't expect anything in San Fran.  Gore has 2 terrible QBs, and an even worse O-line and no one to throw the ball to anyways even if they did have time to drop back.

LJ WAS good, but he had a major injury last year, and it's difficult for RBs to come back from an injury like that.  The amount of carries he'd been getting the last couple of years contributed to the injury.  If you look at the stats the average life of a RB in the NFL is only 5-6 years anyways.  Besides, he's also got a poor O-line,a poor QB, and poor receivers.

Lynch is up and coming in the NFL and proved he could produce last year.  Word out of Buffalo is they are going to involve him more in the passing game as well.  Therefore, I hope you picked Lynch.

  3. I absolutely love Lynch...

This said, I couldn't pass on Gore here...LJ is just too risky...

I would have gone with Gore and crossed my fingers that Lynch would be around at 15...

  4. Lynch - LJ isn't a 3rd down back, and gore has a weaker line/no QB, especially if they dont start A.Smith.

Gore is more of an injury

The whole "traffic violation" focused Lynch and he's going to rip off a huge year

All three have crappy QBs, and Gore is the only quality player on that Offense.  Bills have Lee Evans, and the Chiefs have Dwayne Bowe.

Should be interesting, but Lynch gets the nod

  5. neither of the three you should have went with a wide receiver or quarterback if those were the only three decent RB left.

All three are on REALLY weak teams a QB like Brady or Manning or A WR like Moss or Wayne would have been a smart pick

  6. lynch by far.

most consitent of the three and did exceptionally well last year. larry johnson did terrible. he was my franchise player last year and i ultimitly ended up dropping him. even when he was healthy, he was terrible and not doing well. he got overconfident, and lazy. he didnt do what he needed to and i will never give him another look as a fantasy RB.

i have nver trusted gore. now, like u said with martz, he will not get all the carries he deserves and with lack of a passing game in SF, gore will be keyed on like crazy. when caleld open, he has failed in the past. i do not expect him to improve all that much.

after martz departed STL, look how great the running game got with steven jackson becoming a huge success bar injuries. this will have the same effect on gore in SF.

in conclusion, i pray you took lynch as he is the toughest runner with the most success and best track record. his offense depends on him and he is a key component to success in buffalo.

whether you picked him or not, i hope you have the best of luck with your upcoming season.

PS. if you want, let me know who you picked when you feel you can.
