Gortilea Toby expected to stand first in William Hill Hotbox Bet Stakes
The G. Gibbinson-trained brindle dog, Gortilea Toby, looks to be the strongest candidate for the William Hill Hotbox Bet Stakes, a Grade A2 contest that is schedule to take place at Newcastle racecourse on Tuesday night, July 10. The high-stakes race over
480 meters will commence at 20:37 (GMT).
In the £112 race, the three-year-old experienced hound will compete confidently against five worthy rivals after breaking from the red box.
Since the dawn of the calendar year, the dashing dog has been enjoying great momentum. In the month of May, he elegantly bagged a couple of consecutive triumphs in two T2 races at Newcastle.
After getting a runner-up rank and a third spot in the subsequent starts, the talented son of Killahan Phanter out of Garlyn Judy again accomplished two classic conquests in a row on June 21 and July 5---the last success came with the mammoth margin of 7
lengths and the dog was 5-2 joint favourite for that event.
As a whole, Gortilea Toby has a number of iconic feats to his name. In the coming contest, he is likely to demonstrate a rock-solid run that will help him dominate his competitors emphatically.
However, Maireads Lass will give enough tough time to Gortilea Toby. The M. Walsh-trained black b***h is carrying great confidence following her fabulous 6-length clean victory in her last start on July 5. Earlier, the brilliant b***h had gained a third
in an OR race over 462 meters on June 26.
After debuting in March 2012, the daughter of Top Honcho out of Maireads Fantasy marvellously won four races in a row from April 24 to May 22.
In her only A1 outing, the novice runner finished 5th. These stats show that Maireads Lass has enough potential to trigger an upset in any big race.
In tonight’s marathon, she will not spare any chance to Gortilea Toby to thrive but the dog is likely to fight with his back to the wall and finish first. Thus, a stern battle will be witnessed at Newcastle. The race will be quite entertaining to watch.
Good luck to both the hounds.
