The car is in immaculate shape it only has 130,000 km on it but the stock motor is burning oil... problem is i want to do an engine swap but the car is automatic i would like it to be standard when i do the swap...what should i do? I have invested quite a bit on rims, tint, and lighting and exterior mods as carbon fiber and such but not sure what to do anyone got any ideals or tips?

  1. unless you want to spend $4000+ just converting the car from auto to manual WITHOUT EVEN GETTING THE MOTOR leave it alone. You can find these cars easily for about $1000 in great shape that are already manual and then swap a motor in. Since this is the OBD0 model you are kinda stuck as to which motor will go in easily. To convert the car from auto to manual and swap the engine you will need motor/tranny, motor/tranny mounts, ECU, axles, shift linkages, hydraulic lines, clutch master cylinder (do not put the cable tranny in) three pedal assembly because the brake pedal is too large to allow travel for just a clutch pedal, COMPLETE engine wiring harness, shifter, shift boot, center console to accept the shifter, various nuts, bolts, sensors, and a shop to do it.

  2. look into swapping for a h22a motor and tranny, from and accord or a b18a from an integra...there ar many online forums to help you with this

  3. sure...for conversion to a stick you're going to need to rip into the car. (chassis and frame) You can't make one car into another without money, time and effort. Just buy a stick...it'll cost less in the long run. (and your car is not worth the money, time or effort...no matter what the 'mods' you've done...in the real world, mods don't mean anything in resale.)

  4. wow doing a swap wouldnt be hard or too expensive at all but if ur talking about auto to stick... thats a **** ton of money... would just buy a stick and swap the engine and swap all the stuff u have on the auto onto the new one... i understand stuff like tint wont go but you;ll save much more money just getting a stock stick..
