Got a DUI in Early March...

I got a DUI in early march, the cop pulled me over, did a breatalyzer test. I know for a fact it was under 0.08, He pulled me over for making a left turn and not turning into the closest lane to me. Then he arrested me and took me to the station, did a blood test. My car was towed. After the blood test I just sat there and waited for a ride. When my ride came, the only thing the cop gave me was the paper for the towing company and thats it.

So i'm wondering what happend ? It's been almost 5 months and I still haven't got anything in the mail.

And I went to the towing company the next day and got my car back, usually it takes 30 days or something but they gave it to me.

This was in Arizona by the way..

Any Ideas? Thanks

  1. Get a lawyer and have him/her find out!  Something seems wrong!

  2. I don't see anything wrong with what the officer did.  To be pulled over the officer needs a reason.  The officer then concluded you were under the influence of alcohol.  The PBT you took at the roadside means nothing court-wise, it is not even mentioned in the report.  It is only used as an indicator for the officer.

The vehicle being towed is normal, and the only thing it takes to get it out is the owner with the title.  There is no hold for 30 days..the impound lots would be overflowing.

Taking a blood test is one of the three certified ways to test for alcohol.  It can also take weeks or months to get the results back, depending on who processes the results.  The officer wrote his report, sent off the blood, and passed the case on to an investigator.  Maybe the investigator is not charging you, or maybe they are just getting the case airtight.

Best advice to you:  call them and find out.

  3. He should have given you a notice to appear for the DUI and a proposed suspension of license paper.  Hmmmm.  Have a private detective run your background and make sure there is not a bench warrant on you.

  4. He may have detained you and that was it-

Leave it alone ( unless you have attorney discreetly check on it)

or you could always return to the Jail and demand justice by saying "LOCK ME UP". if you were drinking count your blessings you don'y have suspended license right now.
