Got a Recovery disk with my laptop ?

Question

Can anyone tell me if this will work. I bought a laptop few days back and i got some recovery disk with it and i just wanted to know if those recovery disks would work with my pc

if it is  the same type as the one you have in your computer it should work

   Dont do any research with it, think it as a windows backup, if ur system fails then u can use then to re generate a new installation of ur O/S.

Nothing more beyond this, and u loose all the data in C:(C drive)

No. Recovery disks are almost always specifically created for the computer they're shipped with, with its specific hardware in mind.

yes most likely or you need a windows disk (link: /Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=368&... but you prob. will never need to use it if you have avg get free version here: http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-F... or a trial here: http://www.grisoft.com/ww.download-trial (get the one on the right) when your done i recommend buying it or you can uninstall it and go free!: http://free.avg.com

This recovery disk will work only for the machine it came with.  It contains the hardware drivers that make everything work.  You will also likely have an Operating System disk.  All of this is in case everything crashes and you have to fully rebuild your computer.  Keep your fingers crossed that you'll never have to use them.

I believe it will, as long as it's the same make and has the same OS.

If not, you may find some problems, but then again, you may not.

it all depends on the manufacturer of your pc like if you have a hp pc and a hp laptop it may co inside and work if different manufacturer's it would not hurt to try it but it may not let you go further

ok computers have different recovery disc if they are the same model im not for sure but they wont work from different models

it is so if all the data is lost u can install windows or mac again
