Got a blood test now my vein is ?

i got a blood test 2 days ago

And when the doctor was trying to find my vein

he coudnt find it, in the end he took the blood test

now you can see the vein where he stuck the needle.

or at least it looks like a vein.

its bruised color but dosnt hurt if i press down.

is something wrong? or will it go away..

  1. when a needle is inserted into the vein it causes a little trauma, this is normal because it is considered a injury. The bruise is caused from a little bleeding under the skin as well as the insertion of the needle. you have veins a simple help out in the future would be applying heat to your arm or the area above your elbow. this will cause your veins to come more up to the surface and make them easier to see. i would bet that in 3-6 days you wont even notice the pain or the bruise. this is normal.  


  2. It will go away.  I have similar veins to you.  they're called "diving veins" where they dive so it's harder for dr.'s to find the vein.  Your raised vein is normal.
