I just got a careless driving ticket and my court date is in a month!

I know I should go for 'guilty' but I don't feel I was wrong. I stoped to take a left and as always looked both ways and didn't see anything next thing I know the police patrol was behind me with the lights and he said I had crossed right in front of him. After he gave me the ticket, he was on his way with ligths and all right down the street from where he stopped me for something else. I think he was going way too fast without the lights on because I swear, nothing was coming when I turned left. I will get 4 points! should I fight it?

  1. You go to court.  Then you look like an idoit when the officer plays the tape of your doing exactly what you said you weren't.  Have fun.

  2. Pay the fine.

  3. Someone told me one time.  Never go to surgery without a doctor and NEVER go to court without a lawyer.  You sound like you have an avid case here.  I know lawyers are expensive (SOME ARE), but think of it this way.  You show up and the officer is there (with evidence) and there you are with nothing but, "I did not do it."  The jusge has heard that a thousand time BEFORE YOU GOT THERE.  You get your 4 points, have to pay court fees, and traffic fines and then you are in a bad spot.  OR, you get a lawyer, the officer shows up with his "evidence", you sit there while your lawyer suppresses everything, the judge won't touch it, you win, you smile you go home.  Now, you pay the lawyer but no 4 points, no court costs (maybe) and no fines!  Get a lawyer.

  4. Everything is recorded from the police dashboard.

If your innocent,it will show it.

If your guilty,it will show it.

    Check it out.
