Can someone tell me in detil what jugging is, and how to do it[if it is a good way to catch cats]. Found out about jugging on this site http://zebco.com/common/catfishtips.html . Can someone Plese simplefie.

go with #1..also this works for alligator gars pretty well.. use live bait for flatheads.. blues will hit both live or cut..

jugging is not always legal in some states. Check your state fishing regulations first. Always fish legal.

Hot Tip:  Make your own hot honey spot

broad cast corn and dog food over the area you fish 12 hrs. before setting out jugs .Also make sure this is legal in your area.

Jugging is when you have a line tied onto a juj with a hook or hooks on the line. You bait the hooks & put the jugs in the water you are planning to fish. Usually, right about dark. You can stay with the jugs & pick them up when one gets a fish on or leave them & come back in the morning & pick them up. Either way, you need a boat. The ones running around have fish on them. Some of the others may also but if it's running around, it does for sure.

I only use one hook on each jug. Jug size I use is one gallon. You can use 2 liter pop bottles or even smaller but the larger fish can keep those under longer. I use about 3 feet of line on mine. Some people use long lines & fish the bottom. I like the shorter lines because they don't tangle up in the trees near as bad.

Each state has regulations for fishing with jugs so be sure to check what yours are & obey them.
