Question:

Got a cheap, final-stage, lipid from algae extraction process?

The oil produced by algae will eventually blow the corn, and soybeans out of the competition by 100s of 1000s of times as soon as soon as we stop corn ethanol in its wasteful, economy-ruining tracks. Algae is cheaper and has no one-crop-per-summer, growing season (It's growing season is measure in hours). Algae=95,000 gallons of oil per acre compared to Corn=8.75 gallons of oil per acre.

I want to start a production facility and separate algae from its oil in mass quantities on a scale of millions of gallons per month. Does anyone out there have a schematic of a algae-oil extraction procedure to share? I want to put Americans to work, reduce foreign oil dependence, reduce air polution, and reduce carbon dioxide. Algae is actually nourished by CO2 and rewards us with O2 in exchange.

If I can't find a better final stage, I will use the AlgaeLink tube reactor. I also need your legal holds or patent information on your idea.

Thanks!

  1. Hi Charles T.,

You have a very noble cause!  I wish you the very best of luck in this endeavor.

I totally agree with your analysis of our current trend toward the corn and soy markets, which I believe are economy driven by the farmers' coalitions and lobbyists.

As for information regarding the extraction of lipid from algae, here are a couple of websites with some background concerning the process to some degree...

    I hope this helps.
