  1. It is useable as a fuel, but guess who bought up all the  Hydrogen producing facilities in the USA?    the  BIG oil companies!

Because big oil companies have a huge infrastructure already in place for diesel and gasoline.  They are not about to change it for nothing.

We won't  see very much done with H2 because big oil won't allow it.

  2. As mentioned elsewhere, hydrogen is not a source of energy, it is just a storage medium.  It isn't even a good storage medium because hydrogen is nearly impossible to contain; the molecules are so small that it will seep through any solid, which is why they have to fuel the space shuttle the day they launch it- the hydrogen would boil out of the tanks in a matter of days.

The bottom line is that the only thing keeping hydrogen technology alive is the prospect of subsidies.  In terms of storing and transporting energy, even lead-acid batteries are more efficient.

  3. economically its too expensive and dangerous cos it'll explode if you crash, its also high volume to energy out put so you'd need to refuel every 5 miles and its hard to handle cos its gas which is trick cos you can't just liquefy it way to cold and if its with something else it will burn even less efficient.

Its a dream basically. O and it would be really bad for the environment with massive amounts of water vapor in the air it would wrap the earth like a blanket.

  4. Hydrogen is a conduit, not an energy source in itself.  We can't just "take" hydrogen from water or anywhere else.

SO your hydrogen powered car is powered by whatever was used to make the hydrogen.  The current source (mainly) is COAL.  So you effectively have a coal-powered car.

Nuclear energy used to make it makes it a nuclear-powered car.

Hydrogen storage is a serious problem.  Hydrogen has a very broad difference between the upper explosive limit and the lower explosive limit, making it very dangerous to handle and transport.
