  1. You're best bet's to call the vehicle registration department. They will be able to tell you if there's any way to register the trailer and maybe the boat too.

  2. i found out the hard way....we got a heck of a deal on a bayliner inboard/outboard,we put a lot of time and money into,it had no title,we thought no big deal!well when we went to the MICHIGAN DMV,to get registered,we then realized what we had was nothin more than a part's boat!cause we could not get a title, cause it was i/o  if it would have been outboard, then no big deal to get registered, the trailer was not a problem, cause u can get a assembled title,in MI.

  3. Sounds like your`e up the junction with no paddle.

  4. call your state parks & wildlife ,in texas it is who issues boat registration . if you have the number they can get you in contact with the last known owner

  5. The only thing to do is! Go to the park and wildlife office and file for a lost title or a salvage title. But i would check the boats foam out first to see if the rats or any thing has ate at it . So go see if  will even float before you spend all the time and money my friends were in the same boat your in.

  6. Well, it sounds to me like it was an abandoned boat.  Contact a company that specializes in marine salvage and they may be able to point you in the right direction.  I would talk to them before talking to vehicle registration.  Here are a couple of links.

  7. I'm in the same boat.  no pun intended.  In my state there are salvage titles.  Here you can go to a place that specializes in bonded titles..you pay some money and they secure the value in case the owner comes out from nowhere in 2 years.  after the two years you get a regular title.  I guy i met once told me there are companies in...Maine I think it was, that will title it and then "sell" it back to you.  Similar laws in Navada for motorcycles etc.  people taking advantage of weak property laws.  good luck.  I just have a 18' cat, so I'll just get a salvage title if that is what they let me get.
