Got a three year old gelding who is sensitive in the mouth and will buck when pulling on the reigns, help.?

I've only had him a short time but what a bad habit, any suggestions?

What type of bit are you using or have you changed the type of bit that the horse is accustomed  to ?  They have many types of snaffle bits that are easy on the mouth as opposed to the curb bit which is quite hard.  

Maybe the previous rider had an "easier hand" when pulling the reigns.

Try contacting the previous owner (if possible) to see if your horse always had this habit.
