Question:

Got a ticket in CA driving someone with provisional license

I'm 17 years old with provisional license and got my license about 2 months ago.

I know I wasn't supposed to drive anyone under age of 20, but I took two of my friends who were under 20 and got pulled over.

The reason why I got pulled over was because I forgot to turn on my headlights.(it was like 10 PM..)

I didnt know he was pulling me over, so I kept driving and finally pulled over. He was already mad at the fact that I pulled over late, and when he checked my license, he found out I was driving people under age of 20 with provisional license.

He gave me tickets for headlights and driving someone with provisional license. Now I have to go to the court.

I was wondering how much is the ticket and what other penalties are there.(e.g. suspension of license, points, etc)

Is there anyway to get away with it? Like, do community service, traffic school, or such a thing..

  1. There are allot of attorneys that can take care of the ticket for you if you have the extra money. Allot of times it is cheaper and easier to deal with an attorney than the courts. the courts just want money so they negotiate more with an attorney. Good Luck Rob

  2. you will lose your license for awhile.  probably a hundred or so for the headlights, pretty stupid on your part.  may get traffic school for this.

i guess suspension until 18 for the license thing.

insurance will go up due to the two infractions.
