  1. you should probably put it in the woodlands, near water, and leave her alone to decide where she wants be.

  2. Because I camp in a place with millions of toads I would say not to put it in the water you should let it go around where you found it Because it will find the spot to have babies, maybe place in around water, and also around a bush, and some rocks, and other terrains, so she can decide where,

Are You planning on keeping it after wards?  If so, you'll need a large glass aquarium, and a low (very low bowl) or if you have a higher bowl, put the bowl in, then put sand all around in, and the everywhere else.  Anyway, Fill with water, right to rim.  a large stick, leaves, grass, rocks, and it should look SOMETHING like this: http://www.lizardcages.fws1.com/old1.jpg  And yes, I know that this is for an Iguana, But it should look like that but smaller. ;]

Anyway, if your not keeping it, just trying to help it, I just waisted a lot of time up there ^^Ha haa.

    Oh well, Happy to help.

    EDIT (an hour later)

Omg Einsteinn Girl" I didn't even know It was you :D

  3. You should put her back!!

    But in case you don't:

I wouldn't say putting it in all water is the best choice, but it will lay the eggs in water.

How do you know it is pregnant?

You will want to provide it with a nice big bowl of water - not too deep of course, maybe 2-3 inches tops!

Make sure it can easily get into and out of the bowl.

Pet stores sell a wide variety of bowls in their reptile section you could se for this.

To further take care of it and its offspring, you need to find out just what type of toad it is. Look on-line for yourself, take a pic and post it up here for us, or take it to your local pet store and see if they can help you.

Here is some links I found that may help you out with further info, but knowing the type of toad will help you out greatly!!

Try to post up some pics - I would be interested in seeing her!!

  4. there is no such thing as rescuing in that situation, you probably just doomed it and the babies by taking it away from food and decent shelter.

  5. How exactly did you rescue it? The best idea would be to put it back.

If you must keep it, then go to your local Petsmart.

    *Not Petco or anywhere else...*

I would either talk to someone there or pick up a book on toads. Basically if you want to keep this thing you will need to build a terrarium for it and supply it with everything a family of toads will need. I believe toads eat their young, maybe hamsters. I get them confused >.<.

  6. Put the toad back where you found it (Unless it was in the middle of the road) or in a nearby safe spot. Def. DO NOT put in water, as toads are primarily terrestial. I'm not sure how you know she's gravid, but if she is, Mother Nature's instinct will kick in. Good luck. :)

p.s. I highly disagree with keeping it as a pet. Unfortunately, when things like this happen it often to leads to a very bad ending and heartache. I appreciate the fact that you are trying to help a cool lil' toad though!
