Got a weird question about a kids song.. hope you can help.?

Question

My son has been singing this song for weeks now and I can't figure out what it is or what the lyrics are. If you have heard it before please help me out. thanks.

I am gonna give you as much as I know.

the beginning is like this..

Whalyacha Whalyacha doodleedoo doodleedoo

something something aint much to it you got do it doodlee do it

whaly acha whaly acha doodledoo doodledoo yeah!

but then again it could be rallyacha and not whalyacha... he is young so it is hard to understand.

haha,that is real cute,i always have the same dilema with my son,he'l pick up a song from nursery sing a bit and then me and his father will spend the next few weeks trying to figure out what the song is,lol

It's a camp song that's sung all over the USA.  The lyrics tend to change from place to place.  The way I learned it was:

Wadaliacha, wadaliacha, doodle-dee do, doodle-dee-do

Wadaliacha, wadaliacha, doodle-dee do, doodle-dee-do

It's the simplest thing, there isn't much to it,

All you gotta do is doodley do it.

I love it so whevever I go

it's the doodley, doodley, doo.  Woo!

I know it... it was around during my childhood (the 80s).  Try the children's singers Raffi or Sharon, Lois and Bram.  I can't help you out more than that.
