I plan on relocating (nowhere specific, but definately out of the area I am in) to help advance my career. I am 25, college graduate of 2 years, so I have some experience under my belt. Anyway, I plan on moving around this time next year....maybe an hour away, maybe a few states away, who knows. Please give me advice on what you think I should prepare for financialy and emotionally for a big move...I would rather prepare for a huge move just in case!

  1. I have moved quite a bit and am doing so again. What is your education and what jobs are you willing to do? Perhaps your school can hook you up with a head hunter to try and place you. Maybe with a partial to full relo.

Figure out where you want to go first. Check out the cost of living there. Get a job there first and tell them at least a month to get there and start. Do a recon and check out the place with family or friend to find a pad.

Get rid of what you can. If you have to move yourself. get some one to help you move and drive with there. Stay connected to family and friends allways. Survival tactic #1

    Good luck.

  2. I would do a lot of on line research before you make any final decision or move. These days it's getting tougher to relocate than ever, for numerous reasons.

  3. WELL....I've lived in MI,TN, Fl, NV, CA, OH...It's all the same once you get settled in. The move cost money. Depending on how much stuff and how far you go. It could be friends hauling loads all day or 2500 bucks for a moving truck.

You'll need a place to live...First and last month rent,Deposit..

Deposits for utilities.  License plates and I.D., insurance...

The hardest part is family and friends. It takes a while to meet quality friends and get to know the area.

  4. save money!

find place where you can stay uch as apartments or houses,

and keep checking up on them.

    and so on

  5. come to garden grove CA, emotionally any big move that you do is pretty emotional ya know just chin up

  6. well financialy it will be expeincive with food, car, gas, a home or an apartment. its gonna be alot with movers moving stuff from ur old place to the new or fixen up ur new place, theres alot of money involved emotionally u will feel like u made a huge mistake but in time ull get use to it and it wont matter, just dont move too fasst by getten into a realsonship with a co-worker or the guy 4 rooms down for u cause ull regret it

good luck i know i dont know u but i wish u the best!!! u can do it!! Just do it with confidence!!

  7. I would make sure you research the area you plan on moving to first and maybe even visit. Check out the job market. Check out housing. I would try to have a job and house lined up before moving. Also check your budget and make sure you can financilaly do the move. Make sure you have lots of money saved up incase something goes wrong.
