Got an Anime Question????

Has anyone else ever noticed how the fight scenes in anime are so much faster paced than the ones you see in superhero stuff??? Like for example, I watched Alucard fighting Tubalcain from Hellsing (My favorite anime) and Lee fighting Gaara from Naruto. Then I watched Batman fighting Joker (animated series) and Spawn fighting Chapel from the Spawn animated series. I know Japan is more advanced in the CGI animation and all that, but the fights you see in anime are about 10 times more intense. Why is this???

  1. Simple. Anime itself conveys more emotions and expressions than american cartoons period. You don't see any really emotional moments in Static Shock did you? But there were a lot in Elfen Lied and the movie Grave of the fireflies. What also makes you laugh harder, Code Geass or Justice League? Both are serious shows but Code Geass has unexpected moments that are really funny. In American cartoons like Justice Leauge, if there is humor, they're usually corny little puns.

The closest American thing that expresses emotions and intensity like anime is Avatar, and many people still count that as anime.

  2. I think that's because anime adds more "exaggeration" to their scenes.  For example, in anime, when a character punches another character, you see the punch going to the others face slowly then the guy flies away due to the strong hit.  In cartoon, when a character punches another character, you just see the guy getting punch then the guy falls down fast.

Anime gives us more suspense and excitement, so Anime is better than cartoon, which is why I can't consider the cartoon Avatar as an anime.

    That's all. Ciao!
