Got any good stories or information on your pet hamster? Advice? Experiences?....

I need to know, just to see if i don't know enough on my little dwarf hamster, Suki.

Well, I feel like sharing a story first...

You know those hamster cages that have this little tray on the bottom that you can slide out? Well one day when I was cleaning the cage, i forgot that tray and layered the bedding over it. My hamster <3s digging and dug to the bottom that night. In the morning, I woke up and found it outside of its cage nibbling on a rubber glove. I learned some things that day, never slack on your jobs, and my hamster is easily occupied.

Now, you ask any good stores? Well the PetSmarts around you are a pretty good area. All their stocks are fresh, nothing to harm your hamster unless you are shopping by brand. Oh and depending on your hamster, you should vary on what you buy for its food, or just buy what it eats.

Some advice would be never to make any sudden movements near it, or loud, sudden noises. This will startle your hamster. Jerking away would be and example, or yelling.

That is all I know from expierience. I don't know if my story was good enough for you, but I felt like including something to match everything you asked. I hope that this helps and good luck with Suki!

My family and I love breeding hamsters. We had a long haired hamster named Harry (because he's hairy) and a short haired hamster named Harmony. We wanted them to mate, and sure enough, they did! They had a litter  of 17 little baby hamsters. I would slice up cheese sticks into cubes, and I called them Cheese Cubes. I would put gogurt in a little glass bowl, and they would climb in and lap the gogurt up with their little pink tongues. It was so cute! Me and my brother would build houses out of blocks for them to go in. My mom had to give them to the pet store (and you bet I was sad) because our family couldn't handle 17 babies. Harmony and Harry had another litter, and my family did the exact same things for those babies, except this time, there were 15 in the litter. Then one day, Harry ran away. Our family wasn't scared. He had run away many other times. But we never found him again, and we knew that he had run away for good.

All of the little babies had escaped except for three, two girls and one boy. And I guess that one of the girls (we named her Harriet after) had mated with her own brother, because in a couple of weeks, we saw hairless, pink, and blind (that's how they are when they're born) little baby hamsters.  The boy and the other girl had run away. Once they had started growing fur, we noticed that some of their eyes were red and some of their colors were tan. Weird. The parents were gray, black, and white. I realized that it was because the brother and the sister breeded with each other. My mom had to give all of the hamsters away to the pet store. We got another hamster that looked just like Harry, and we named him Hampton. We bought him, hoping that he and Harriet would mate, but shortly after, Harriet had run away. And we never saw her again. So, we got a girl hamster for him to mate with named Oreo. She was gray, white, and short haired. But she and Hampton never mated.

So, right now, the hamsters that we have are Harmony, Oreo, and Hampton. Harmony is in a cage with Oreo, and Hampton has a cage to himself. Oreo used to be in a cage with Hampton, but, like I said before, they didn't breed, so we moved Oreo in with Harmony and not Hampton, because Hampton and Harmony don't get along.

My tips are to hold Suki and pet him/her and to pet Suki a lot. And if you ever have left over food (except chocolate), such as fruit or vegetables. Both of them together are even better. So, good luck with Suki and I hope you enjoyed the stories.

I made a car outta legos and my two  hamsters could get in and out through the windows and we loved to have them play in it.

I also had a hamster called carmelcookie and one day we made a little box outta popcicle sticks and we could slide the top out

well my brother was going to take one outta the top to see the hamster and accidentally took 2 and carmelcookie burst out from that day forward his nickname was monster ( :

One day I went to check on our hamsters (2 russian dwarf) and one of the hamsters head was gone and its insides were missing. it was really sad and of course it was monster who was left at the crime scene...we aren't so sure though.

i once had two hamsters that ran sooo fast we couldn't even hold them then one died after only a week so we returned them both and got a new hamster.

this was nugget a teddy bear hamster, he NEVER bit us and always was fun to hold and take care of

one day we gave it to a fifth grade teacher who we KNOW would take care of it...but it go a tumor a year later and died.

Hamsters are very interesting pets and are really cute, just remember to care and feed them everyday.

it is another life you are  responsible once you get one remember that.

I had a hamster once that got out of its cage in my mom's room and came into my room, somehow managed to climb up my bed skirt, and start l*****g my toes at age 5 [ true story i swear to god].

Another time my hamster got out for a week and we thought for sure it was dead and my mom heard something chewing one day and found it eating my drawing paper with my art supplies. that same hamster had babies with my other one twice. don't listen to the pet store employees when they tell you they're both males lol.

I have a blackberry dwarf hamster now .. really cute .. loves peanut butter and sunflower seeds.  some hamsters like grapes and apples and stuff like that. my hamster now actually responds to his name and stuff, it's really crazy.

just handle your hamster often and don't make loud noises and all that other stuff and just go with the flow :)
