from like the categories of shonen (fighting), more emotional ones, sad (tragic), drama, mysterious:

Hunter X Hunter (one of my fav fighting series) 9.7/10

Naruto (1st series, i think shippuuden sucks) 8.7/10

Bleach 9/10

Hajime no Ippo (this is great fighting and is hilarious) 9.1/10

Death Note 9.3/10

Monster (one of the best ive seen makes u fink, gr8 story) 9.8/10

Noir (ladies as assassins) 8/10

Blood+ (brilliant story) 9.5/10

GTO - Great Teacher Onizuka (this is a comedy which is hilarious) 8.5/10

Fruits Basket (got comedy and brings out loads of emotion) 9.2/10

Hellsing (if u like vampires even tho i didnt like this one to much) 7/10

Saikano (romantic very sad) 8/10

Rurouni Kenshin - Trust and betrayal OVA (my fav anime ever) 9.8/10

Rurouni kenshin - series 8/10

Berserk (tragic and quite bloody, brilliant story) 9.2/10

these are pretty much ones i really like. If u cant find an anime you shuld try reading manga u can get free sites for it, some manga are even better than watching the anime eg. Berserk and naruto shippuuden.

oh what i named was anime series if u wana watch good anime films some of my favs are: anything created by studio ghibli, paprika, Ninja Scroll

-Air: It’s funny, has a little bit of drama, fantasy and love. It’s harem. Has 12 episodes

-Blood +: It’s a little bloody as the title says, but still an interesting plot. Has 51 episodes I believe.

-Bottle Fairy: It may not be the best anime ever, but it’s good for laugh a bit. It’s about some fantasy and Japanese traditions, show in a funny way. Has 12 episodes.

-Chrno Crusade: It’s about some kind of exorcism and monsters, but still reaaally funny and has a little bit of romance and action. It’s shonen. Has 26 episodes.

-Clannad: It’s funny, has a little bit of drama, fantasy and romance. It’s harem. Has 26 episodes.

- ~ef~ A Tale of Memories: It’s interesting, has a little bit of drama, fantasy and romance. Has 12 episodes.

-Fruits Basket: It may be old, but still very funny, it has a little of fantasy and romance. Has 26 episodes.

-Gravitation: It’s funny and romantic. It’s shonen-ai. Has 12 episodes.

-Junjo Romantica: It’s new and has finally ended the 1st season. It´s really funny and has lots of romances!! It´s yaoi. Has 12 episodes.

-Kamichama Karin: It’s funny and cute. Has some magic, romance. It’s maho-shojo. Has 26 episodes.

-Kanon 2006: It’s based on the old series, but even better. It’s really funny, has drama, romance, fantasy. It’s harem. Has 26 episodes.

-Loveless: It’s romantic, funny and has some fantasy. It’s shonen-ai. Has 12 episodes.

-Matantei Loki Ragnarok: It’s about detectives. Has action, mystery, fantasy and a little of comedy also. Has 26 episodes.

-Mirmo Zibang: I´ts also old but still it’s good. It has magic, love, funny. It’s maho-shojo. Has more than 51 episodes.

-Myself Yourself: This anime it’s ok to see it one time, but still cute. It’s funny, a little of drama and romance. Has 13 episodes.

-Ouran High School Host Club: This is greaaaat!! I LOVE it!! It’s reaaaaally funny and has romance. Has 26 episodes.

-Pita-Ten: It may old, but still very cute. It has a little of romance, but still funny. It’s maho-shojo. Has 26 episodes.

-Princess Princess: It’s very funny and it’s cute. It´ may have a little of shonen-ai. Has 12 episodes.  

-Romeo x Juliet: As the name already says, it has romance, action, fantasy and it’s funny. Has 24 episodes.

-Shinigami no Ballad: It may be not the best anime ever, but it’s ok to pass the time. It’s really short, has a little of drama. Has 6 episodes.

-Shugo Chara!: THIS IS MY FAVORITEEE!! I LOOOOVE this even more!! It’s reaaaally funny, has magic, romance. It’s maho-shojo. It’s new so it’s still uploading, so far it has 43 episodes but some aren’t subbed yet. Will have 51 episodes and maybe a second season!

-Sola: It’s interesting and funny; it has fantasy, a little bit of drama and romance. Has 13 episodes.  

-Spiral: It’s interesting, talks about mystery and detectives. Also it’s funny. Has 25 episodes.

-Sukisyo: It may be old, but still it’s funny, has a little bit of drama, romance and fantasy. It’s shonen-ai. Has 12 episodes.

-True Tears: It’s interesting. Has a little bit of drama, fantasy, comedy and romance. Has 26 episodes.

-Utawarerumono: It’s a good anime. It’s about war, ancient times but it’s funny. It has a little of drama, fantasy, action and romance. It’s shonen. Has 26 episodes.

-Zero no Tsukaima: It’s really funny, has romance and magic. Has two seasons and the third one will be released soon. Has 13 episodes each season.

I want to add the anime series "Air Gear" and "Soul Eater" to the list given by the others.  Both are good action with hot characters and hot music.  Enjoy. ^^
