We're flying long haul and I've got books, and stickers, and toys, and milk, and snacks for my little girl, but any tips on keeping an active and enquiring two and a half year old happy on a long haul flight would be greatly appreciated!!

  1. i went on holiday with my two year old and wanted to go home from i got there it was ridiculous.. flights delayed check in the lot was a nightmare.  hes great now hes 5 would tke him anywhere now but good luck

  2. Looks like you've got it all sorted out already - I can't think of anything else - crayons maybe (you've probably already got those though).  Maybe a small one of those magic slate things (you know the ones that you can scribble on and it rubs out).

The only other thing - bring some calpol sachets in case of earache.

And drink a large G&T yourself if she gets a bit much.

    edit:

Just remembered - a friend travelled with her toddler who was sick on her during the flight - it might be worth packing a spare top for yourself in handluggage (as well as a change of clothes for her).  It proably won't happen...but you never know...

  3. Have you ever seen hannibal lecter?

That coat he wears, with the mask.... they go pretty nicely on my children. When I take them out.... not A word.

    Nope.

Keeps them shtum throughout the day.

    I highly recommend it.

  4. Sedatives.

    Lol, just kidding!

  5. CHANGE OF CLOTHES!!! You never know whats gonna happen especially if you're flying from Heathrow lol.

Wipes/Hand sanitizer also in terms of entertainment I dunno if your daughters into tv but if she is perhaps you could have her watch a favourite programme to keep her busy for a little while.

With regards to the toys/stickers etc dont give everything at once when giving them do it at regular intervals so she doesn't get bored & you dont run out. Try stuff like play doh, colouring in, lego etc. Make sure books are well known kids can be funny with new books the same could be said about all toys it helps if the child has played with some of them before as there is nothing worse then buying something for a child and them just ignoring it kids usually take ages to like some toys.

Don't let her walk up and down the aisles unless going to the bathroom (sounds harsh) but once you start they don't stop!!

    Good luck & have a safe/fun trip!!
