Hey everyone,

My family got a boxer that was used for breeding from what I would consider a puppy mill ( the lady had 70 plus dogs at her house). Anyhow, she had puppies a couple months ago, we are told none of them lived because the boxer had got a heart worm shot while pregnant and it effected all the puppies. She has been fixed and I don't think she nursed any of the puppies but her nipples are like 2-3 inches long. will they go down? is there anything we can do?

thanks

  1. no they might go down a little bit but they will always stay long

  2. it depends on how many litters she has had if only one then yes they will shrink back

  3. They may go down a bit, but much like human pregnancy, breeding changes the body of the b*tch perminantly. She'll never be in the shape she was before breeding.

  4. They will probably go down some, but not completely.  This dog has been through many heat cycles and been bred and had pups numerous times.  I'd be asking questions about the overall health of this dog as well because a couple of months ago there was no "heartworm shot" available in the US, and even though its available now its not in wide circulation.

  5. You have 3 clear options.  Ask your vet.  Go to one of the many Ask a Vet websites online and ask there.  Wait and see.  All I can tell you is sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

  6. they will probably never be "normal" she was probably delivering to many puppies this is why puppy mills need to be shut down i would also take hes to the vet
