  1. well u should wait until your teeth are not so loose or sensitive. give it about a week then try normal foods. If you feel pain in you mouth while chewing then wait another week. When i had braces though it only took about a week. You should try avoiding foods such as pizza for about a month the reason being because not only is it chewing but u have to pull to. I tried and it hurt. A lot 0.0

  2. You'll be able to eat normally in a few days. In the mean time eat soft stuff. Your teeth get REALLY sensitive when they first put on your braces, when they change ur wires ( every few months ) and a bit when they take em off. It sucks but it only usually lasts like 3-5 days, i noticed, if you dont aggravate ur teeth like biting or chopping on anything hard or clenching them together, the pain dies away quickly in like 3 days.

  3. give it a couple more days to a another week

the first time u wear braces it hurts a bit throughout the whole 1st month

but u should be able to eat within another week

after that when u get ur teeth tightened and wires switched its not as bad

  4. I have braces.

I remember when I first got them that my orthodontist told me not to eat anything for 2 hours, but after that I could eat. He said that I can eat soft foods, but that I need to also try to eat harder foods or else (believe it or not) my mouth would get even more sore.

So try to eat normal foods now. It will be hard for a while, but you will get used to it. And your braces will end up being less sore.

  5. k so i didnt follow any of the rules when I had braces. The Only thing i wouldnt recomend eating is popcorn cuz if it gets stuck in your teeth its really gross. n_n Also, wen your eating hard foods, make sure you dont bite into it with your front teeth b.c they might come off.

I did that the first day i got braces and one of them got loose.

    Just be careful.

    hope I helped :)

  6. Just think of this as the best diet plan ever. lol I had to wear them for 2 years. I almost wish I still had them, so I could lose some unwanted weight. Give it a couple of weeks, and it will get easier. Then everyt time you go to get them tightened, you have to go through it all over again. Good luck.

  7. I would think you would be able to eat normal things now. When I had braces I was only REALLY sore for a couple of days. After that, I was a little bit sore but, not so much I couldn't eat normal stuff.

Give it another week and see, but, the pain really should be going away now. Have you tried taking some pain killers like Advil? That could possibly help. Also Ora-gel can help too, it doesn't taste very good but, will numb your mouth...just be careful eating with a numb mouth as  you don't want to bite your cheek or tongue.

  8. Congratulations! It was only a few weeks before I could eat real food again, but it might stay sensitive. They'll be off before you know it.

  9. Very soon.

  10. In a few days you will eat normally. only for a few days more it will hurt also when your dentist tightens your braces it will also hurt for about an hour but besides that it will be all good

  11. it took me like a few days then i basically ate everything but it hurts eating normal stuff after getting em tightened and stuff...but im warning you DONT try to eat stuff like corn on the cob normally cuz itll get COMPLETELY stuck in them and itll be a mess especially ribs and steak and stuff...just break everything up into little pieces i did that the entire time i had braces

  12. You can probably start to try things...just remember not things that will get caught easily so stay with the potatos and veg, soft pasta etc and then build up.....

    it's worth it!

  13. in a while just be patient chick!!

  14. i've had braces for a year now.

about a week after you get your braces, give ou take a few days, you'll get used to them and be able to eat normal stuff. i won't lie to you but every six weeks you have to get your braces tighten and it hurts few a few days afterwards. but i promise you, you'll get used to them and not even know that they're there. :) just think, you'll have beautiful white, straight teeth, after there off!!

    hope this helps...

  15. Don't worry soon enough you will be able to eat the things your normally eat back to normal. In at least one more week. Don't chew gum, and all other things you orthodontist told you not, you don't want to break your brackets.

  16. it could take a few weeks until you can eat other foods because braces can be painful for the first few weeks

  17. hmmm. Mine only hurt for a couple of days. Maybe tomorrow.

  18. when the pain stops is when youll be able to eat normally. i know from having braces before.

  19. After about a week everything should stabilize and you may continue to eat all brace-safe foods (pretty much anything that isn't hard as a rock). Orthodontists also recommend staying away from gum, though sugar-free gum seems to be fine with them. I found that I could chew nearly all gum with my braces and it would not get stuck... just the occasional trapped-below-the-lower-lip scene.

But— hey, who's complaining?? Soup, mashed potatoes and ice cream is the meal of kings!

  20. about 2 weeks. they really hurt at first. make sure u use floss everyday and brush your gums. This will firm them up and help u eat normally quicker. unfortunately, u will still be sore for a few days after your adjustment appointments. ps- brush carefully so you won't get decalcification (white) spots.

  21. you should be able to eat normally in a few days.  it took me about 2 weeks before i was able to eat all the normal foods that i ate before braces.

  22. Yes, you will.  When I had them, they said "No gum, caramel, nuts, etc" But after you have them for awhile and get used to them and learn how to chew the food without it getting stuck, it's all good.
