I forgot to pay my insurance on the 7 they sent me a notice to pay on the 25th or cancellation. I got into an accident on the 30 planned on paying on the 2 of April then again on the 6th. I filed a accident claim on the 30th. with me paying on the 2 and reinstating my car insurance will my insurance company still cover me for my accident on the 30th. I need help fast.I havent been denied reinstallment. I'm only late paying 1 time. please help.

  1. No.

  2. No way, sorry it say this but your outta luck.

  3. No - you screwed yourself.

  4. Your chances of reinstatement are quite middling, at best.  You are asking an insurance firm to accept a late payment AFTER you got into trouble.  Not a wise thing to do.

  5. The answer is no

What happened is that your policy lapsed so the days that you were cancelled are not going to be covered. Yes ofcourse you can reinstate but  those 5 days that your policy was in lapse you will Not be covered

    Sorry

  6. if you cancelled your insurance you dont have cover, and therefore u cannot expect compensation from the insurance company.

if you have an insurance ombudsman then u should refer your claim to them in the event of repudiation, however im sure your isnurers would ahev advised you that if premiums are not paid you are not covered, so back paying wont solve the problem if this was a term of your insurance policy agreement

  7. In this case, it's up to the insurance company if they want to cover it or not.  Most policies state that if you have an accident while the policy is in cancellation status, have a wreck, and then pay your premium current, the decision to afford coverage is up to them.  So, you better find out from your insurance company and not here.

You'll want to research this some more....

    Have a nice day.

  8. nope. you werent covered. anything in that space of time, a ticket, an accident, be it a few days, or a few months, counts as you not having insurance. sorry. good luck.

  9. No.

They will reinstate your policy but it will be from the date/time of the payment forward.  It will not go backwards.

You had no insurance on the date/time of the loss.

The reason for this is quite simple --it's to keep people from doing what you did---driving around un-insured and then going and getting an insurance policy after the fact.

Insurance has to be purchased before the loss.

You can't put a life insurance policy on someone after they are dead.

You can't get health insurance after you have been diagnosed with a disease and need the policy to pay for treatment.

You can't get a homeowners policy after your house burned down.

You can't get an auto policy after you caused a wreck.

Here's what will happen - your company will do a coverage investigation and most likely deny coverage. They will send you and the other party a letter.  The other person's insurance will pay them for any damage they have. Then come back after you for repayment. You will be able to set up an interest free re-payment plan with the insurance company. Do not ignore the insurance company when they come back for repayment - they can suspend your license, sue you, turn you over to collections.

As far as the damage to your car- you will have to eat  that loss yourself.

  10. i don't think so based on you statement - pay on the 25th or cancellation. technically, your insurance policy lapsed so they will likely not consider you covered on the 30th.

  11. Nope. Nice try though.
