Got my belly button pierced and im freaking out......?

i got my belly button pierced about 2 weeks ago and its really red around the botton and top... i clean it 3 times a day like they told me to and i even use the bactine to keep bacteria off of it. is that normal for a healing piercing to turn red and have a little white to clear liquid comming from it? my friends said it was ok and they just think im acting parynoid...please help!!!

First, you Seriously need to stop cleaning it with Bactine. It is not for piercings... its for cuts and scraps. The Bactine is drying out the Good and bad oils that keep your piercing hydrated, and making it flake.

You need to get an anti bacterial soap (like a hand soap) and clean it twice a day with that.

OR

You can take a sea salt concoction (sea salt & warm water) and use that to clean the piercing twice a day.

When I got mine done they gave me two bottles of H2o Ocean to clean the piercing with twice a day.

And remember... There's also such a thing as over cleaning. You should only be touching your piercing twice a day to clean it. Don't play with it because the bacteria on your handes will get into the piercing and cause a nasty infection.

The secretions are normal but if you don't take care of it they will turn into pus from an infection and not just normal secretions.

i wouldnt worry about it unless it does not go away or if there is puss coming out of it or a bad smell, could be an infection.  but just watch it and continue to clean it like you have been

You're cleaning it to much...

Clean it only twice a day. Sometimes even once a day.

And dont use bactine.... not good

it's very common and normal. if you see the area around the piercing is starting to swell and you notice more pus or liquids coming out of it then it's time to go where you had it done and have them check it out. infections are nasty and cannot be ingnored. ive seen so many cases when people are just too lazy to 'baby'' the piercing. so. just listen to your body, wear confy clothes and take care of it. mine healed after months. so its completely normal.

yeah its normal, its just healing.  although you should stop using the bactine, you should only be using a sea salt soak, if you use too many products to clean the piercing, it will irritate it.

I had mine done and what yours is doing is very normal, and yes part of the healing process. Just keep doing what you are doing and it will be fine.

my friend got hers done and the same thing happened to her. and i asked her about it and she said it was normal. just keep cleaning it and itll be ok.

Don't worry this is good - it means the hole is healing and it is getting rid of all the puss and stuff inside, i had mine done and this happened to me. The more this happens the better. You will soon be changing those bars, and it will look great. It will be red but thats because youve just pushed a hole through ur skin. IT IS PERFECTLY NORMAL - GROSS LIQUID MEANS - HEALING BELLY BUTTON.
