ok its been about 2 months since i had my ear pierced. when i got my ear pierced the lady said i cant take the ear ring out for a month. in a month i tried to take the earing out but it hurts. when i took out the earing i was bleeding and had pus on my ear. i cleaned it with alcohol and slept with the earing off. in the morning i put the earing back on. My aunt told me to keep it out but being that i just got it i dont want the whole to close but if i keep it in its going to be hard for my ear lobe to heal, because when i put it on the next morning it i felt that it was already beginning to close. please tell me what to do i dont want my ear lobe whole to close and have to get a pierce again

  1. i have the same thing. it hurt so bad i had to let them close. you have to buy expensive earings that dont irritate your skin. your allergic to this type of metal. and when you put it in it gets infected.

  2. in situations like this a trip to your GP with the earring in place is what i advise all my piercing customers to do.

the ear is probably infected which will need antibiotics or antibiotic drops.

as you have found out your ear is still in the healing proves (your quite slow at healing) and the removal of the earring will cause the hole to heal up. the healing process for lobe piercings are 6 weeks and 12 for cartilage.

have you pushed the butterfly on the back tighter than when it as first pierced? - this must always be on the end of the earring leaving it free to move and easier to clean. it MUST remain like this until the healing process is complete - this is essential as tight earring can lead to inflammation!!!!!

use natural sea salt and cooled boiled water from your kettle to clense the ear as most other solution are to harsh for a new piercing.(unless you bought the ear cleaning solution from the piercers when you had it done).

  3. keep cleaning the hole with alcohol and rinsing the earring in alcohol twice a day before putting back into your ear. Do not wipe off the alcohol before returning it back to your ear so that the alcohol can go through the hole by way of the earring stem. If the infection doesn't seem to be clearing up in a week, then you need to go see a physician because an antibiotic may be in order. Good luck!
