Question:

Got new job. Not doing what I was told I would be doing.

I was hired to work at a doctors office a few months ago. I was told I would be a roomer, however, my boss decided to put me back in the call center. Instead of physically interacting with people, I communicate with people over a phone and get yelled at for other peoples mistakes. Should I wait it out and see if I get my position I was hired for?

  1. Wait it out.  At every job you get the irst weeks are the hardest.  People gotta see if you got what it takes.  And sometimes it takes patience to get the respect you deserve, and the job you expected.  Every job i've ever had has that little probationary period where everybody treats you like c**p and makes you work twice as hard as you should.  Maybe what you're going through is just the white collar version.LOL

  2. I'd talk to your boss and ask him what the possibilities are that you'd be moved to the position you interviewed/was hired for. If there doesn't seem to be an opportunity, you might want to look for a new job elsewhere and when you get hired, give your two weeks notice.

  3. If you see someone else get hired behind you for the position and you aren't offered it, at that point I would quit. Keep communication between you and the person that hires people open. Wait at least a little while.
