Got one of those old resident alien cards...

I have one of those resident alien cards that don't expire. Now my mom tell me that she didn't renew it when i was 15 now i'm 23. is that true? i'm i going to in trouble because its been a long time? It has my baby picture on it.

  1. You are in NO trouble.  Just renew it now.  File form I-90 with the USCIS.....

  2. no problem, only difference is if you file to renew the card within 30 days of your 14th birthday you would not have paid to renew it.  now you will have to pay the $370.00. those that renew now due to their 14th birthday only pay the $80 biometric fee. but why not consider applying for Naturalization, the fee is $675.00.  but if your mother or father became a naturalized u.s. citizen before you were 18 years of age you have automatically aquired u.s. citizenship and need to apply for a certificate with form N-600.

  3. Don't worry with a non-expiration card.  You're absolutely fine, and certainly not deportable or in ANY trouble just because you have an old card with your baby picture on it.

    The USCIS suggests that you update your card by applying for a new one.  Check the USCIS website for information about renewing your green card.

  4. You are not in trouble, but why have you not expired for citizenship yet?
