  1. Ouch!! U need a thermal therapy back brace to help sooth the pain & relax your muscles. Wearing a compressive back brace will also help support your spine for improved healing. Give your back some rest too & avoid over zealous massage therapists.


  2. Over the counter pain killer, hot pack and a warm bath should help you out, and the pain shouldn't last more than a day or two.  I would call her if it is longer than that and see what she recommends.   I don't do shiatsu, but have been a massage therapist for over 10 years, and you are never supposed to work on the bone itself.  I would talk to her or find a new massage therapist.
