Got ticketed by Caltrain, now?

Hi, I friend of mine got a fine by Caltrain Officer. She had a 10-ticket ride but was late and train was about to leave. So she jumped on the car where the officer was and asked her to validate. That happens sometimes but the officer, who actually saw my friend running, decided to fine her.

Now we just moved in California, and we are concerned about how the process works for Caltrain. Anyone got ticketed at Caltrain can describes how the things work? Thanks

It's a pretty simple process.  There are rules.  Not following the rules leads to a ticket.  Being new to CA is not a defense.  He didn't just "decide" to fine your friend. she violated a rule and actually put herself in danger.

Pay the fine.  Follow the rules in the future.

you might just have to go to court (it should say on the ticket)

and pay the ticket there
