  1. Take lessons: they are worth it.  you will fall less and develop good skills for your future development.

  2. All starts with the head, look where you wanna go turn shoulders in same direction followed by hips then swing your back foot out while having your front foot act as a pivot. You need to make sure while swinging your foot out that you raise that edge because if an edge is not pointing in the direction you are going and its flat against the snow it will grab the snow and turn you into a faceplant king.

Thats how to start a turn...also if you keep yourself in the turn and keep going (feet pointing downhill or back downhill) you can brake like that but make sure to be balancing on the edge thats highest up the mountain...thats what will take the most time and be most frustrating...go slow at first but not super slow because its harder to stay balanced at low speeds.

  3. My best tip is to not get frustrated. You are going to fall...A LOT! Your first times you are going to be standing up and falling down constantly. You also will be really sore, but don't quit!

  4. Take a lesson.  You can go ahead and read things online and watch YouTube videos until the end of time but they're no replacement for a trained professional who can lead you through the basics correctly.
