Got to ask about mirena IUD?

Question

Okay i have had the mirena for a month now and today I was feeling for the strings and it feels like there wrapped around up on my cervix and I feel it on the right and left side like a u shape in there sorry for to much info. but has this happen to anyone and can you tell me your stories about your mirena good or bad thank you!

Had mine since Dec 2004 and love it! I had regular periods for about 3mo and haven't had any since then. No need to worry - if you want to make sure make an appt the doctor can check it within minutes. I was nervous when I first got it and went to the doctor's because I couldn't feel the strings lol. But now, my doctor checks the strings at every pap. Have no regrets about getting it and will do it again after my 5 is up.

lol, well when i first got mine i couldn't feel the strings so i freaked out and went to my doctor, they checked and everything was fine, they were just wrapped around (like urs) and they said it was totally fine, so im sure your fine, lol. Anyways, so that was very embarassing running to the docs like a mad women. lol, but other then that ive had no complaints!!

I actually had to MAKE mine do that, so they wouldn't keep "hurting" my husband.

They are kind of rough at the edges, and plastic-E, which kept scratching his... um... "member".

It's normal... Probably for the best too... just try to uncurl them if you are unsure whether it's in place or not... I think the main reason those strings are there are so they can get it out at the end of the 5 years...

The scratching, and the constant spotting/cramping of the first two months were mi biggest issues, but now everything is peachy, and I don't even get periods anymore! I honestly couldn't be happier!

ADD- I've had it since April, and for the first two and a half months I was spotting heavily and constantly (Bummer) I only had one more period after that (really heavy) back in June, and nothing since. I really can't complain... Don't worry so much about it... You will probably feel (as in pain) if something were wrong...

I am just enjoying my 5 year reprieve from the curse of menstruation....
