The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 international is confident that his side can mount a title challenge, and believes they are back in top form after a tough start to the season.
Borussia Dortmund star player Mario Gotze claimed that the BVB have not lost hopes on the Bundesliga honour just yet, even though they trail the table-toppers Bayern Munich by nine points after seven league rounds. He said Bayern
are not that far and a few results in their favour can change their league position.
The defending champions have failed to find their best form this season, but Gotze is determined and has asked his colleagues to concentrate and improve their performances, and then pray Der FCB drop their top form. Die Roten have
a good lead but it is still early on in the campaign.
"Bayern have a significant lead, but we can still catch up with them. They're not unassailable yet," Gotze was quoted as saying in an interview.
The young midfielder stated that they are not afraid of the Bavarian giants and will try to win their own matches. Moreover, he said that they have to be patient and see how things shape up. He further added that every campaign
is different and as a result, making predictions is really hard.
"We have no reason to fear them. We will keep on trying to win our own games. We will have to wait and see how everything else pans out," he added.
Dortmund faced a similar situation last year as Bayern had a eight point lead over them but still managed to reclaim the Bundesliga title. However, Gotze said it will be difficult to repeat the same feat again.
"Every season is different. We cannot just say, 'Right, this is where we start a series of victories',” he mused.
"We can only blame ourselves for this situation. We have made mistakes. However, we are on the right path again,” he finally concluded.
The attacker claimed that the Borussians will start to win matches from now on. Nevertheless, he conceded that they are themselves to be blamed for their poor run as they made a number of errors.
