The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has insisted that Bayern Munich players have all their support after the Bavarians lost the UEFA Champions League final.
Jupp Heynckes’ side were downed by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in the final of Europe’s premier club competition on penalties as the home team were denied their fifth Champions League crown. The match ended 1-1 at the end of extra-time and the Blues
turned out to be the better team from the spot.
Gotze claimed that the German national team is with the Bayern Munich players and admitted that the Bavarians will get all the support from their Die Mannschaft teammates when training starts this week.
The talented midfielder added that it is certainly a huge disappointment when a team works so hard and plays brilliantly to reach the final but end up losing the fixture. He claimed that every player wants to win the Champions
League and Bayern Munich have definitely been unlucky to lose at the same stage two times in the course of three seasons.
“We want to and will help them. When they are here we will rally around them and have the European Championship as a goal in mind, it will be a different situation for them. Of course it is a disaster as a player to a chance to
win the Champions League and to have missed it. But it's over now and they cannot change anything,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Gotze admitted that he cannot experience how the players feel as he has not been in the final and lost it but admitted that it is certainly not easy. He added that the Bayern Munich players can make a strong comeback by performing
well in the upcoming European championship to make up for the loss.
“You ask yourself, how would one do in this situation? This is not so easy, it sure does hurt a lot. But there remains nothing else than to forget about it and look forward,” he concluded.
