Government giving smokers 16euros a week to kick their habit?

ive heard the u.k have done this already and i would love for them to bring it to ireland,

apparently they give you weekly tests to see if you have not smoked and give you support to help you stop,

if any1 in the uk has had this, has it worked for you?

Tayside NHS are to pilot a two year project in Dundee for the Scottish Government in which smokers who do not smoke are given £12 a week in vouchers for fresh food.

it's absolutely right.., restriction will make smoker reduce their activities/smoking..

But if they already addicted..it's not enought just giving punishment..

In Jakartat-Indonesia also.., the goverment do that but it's not quite effective due to +/- 50 % men are smoker, imagine that..

wow that would be nice if they did that here in the US. but i KNOW it would not work. I doubt raising cig prices here by a dollar to 2 dollars hasnt done much
