Gowanharry hot favourite for Catterickbridge.co.uk Handicap
Gowanharry is a top contender for winning the Catterickbridge.co.uk Handicap at Catterick in England on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. The triumphant horse will be awarded a cash prize of £4,075.
A total of six runners have been attracted towards the 5 furlong event, which is scheduled to start at 15:10 GMT. Furthermore, the track is soft, which will make things difficult for a few runners.
However, the situation seems to be working quite nicely in favour of Gowanharry, who has got a pretty decent record in the sport. She likes the soft ground and that will give her an advantage over most of her rivals. She has been given a general starting
price of 6 to 4 by the bookmakers, which means that they expect her to dominate proceedings at Catterick.
On the other hand, the punters should also not hesitate while placing bets in favour of the favourite runner, as she will not let them down at all in these conditions.
The three-year-old filly has participated in four races in her career, which shows that she is quite inexperienced. Despite that, she appears to be the best candidate for victory at the end of the day.
She has won a single event in her career whereas finished runner up and third on the same number of times. This means that there was only one occasion, where she failed to make it to the top three.
The Michael Dods’ trainee started off her career with a race at Catterick, but was unable to make a big impression in it. Despite that, she did not do that bad as well, securing the fifth place out of 12 runners. This was her only appearance in the 2011
season.
The start of next year was quite impressive for Choisir’s daughter, as she finished runner up in the first race back then. The bookies expected her to do well though, as they had given her the best odds.
In her next outing, the young filly finished third and followed that up with a victory. All these good performances came when the track was soft, which proves that she likes running in such circumstances.
Seasoned jockey, Paul Mulrennan, will be the one partnering Gowanharry in the race at Catterick today.
