Grace Waller returns to the pool after beating cancer
16 year old, Grace Waller made a surprise comeback to the pool after beating cancer. Earlier she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, which is a type of bone cancer.
The surgeons successfully conducted her kneecap replacement surgery.
Meanwhile, her college coach, DeKalb Leah Eames, said she has found Waller as a very dedicated, passionate, acrobatic and professional swimmer. “She continues to amaze me every day”, Leah Eames said.
Earlier, medical doctors and researchers had lost hope in Waller’s recovery, but she proved her fitness by beating her bone cancer courageously. At 16 years old, she is one of the most beautiful and exciting swimmers.
Many people have huge expectations from Waller and hope she performs well after her comeback.
Meanwhile, Waller said she had to cope with her cancer ailment with full of dedication and motivation. She added this might be her last chance to improve her fitness. If she does not combat cancer strongly, she might not be able to make a comeback yet again
in the pool.
Waller said she is going to burst out in the pool. She is as determined as ever and acknowledged the gratitude she owes to those, who have stuck with her during her ailment. She added that whatever she has done is thanks to great people’s prayers.
Waller is the record holder in the 500-yard freestyle. She has expertise in both 200 and 500 yard freestyle.
She said, “Now, looking back on it, I think that Leah was the best thing that could have happened to me as a coach. I’m so blessed to be able to get back into this sport and be where I used to be”.
Waller stated, “It was definitely my hardest season as far as workouts go. I’m happy that I’m back”. Meanwhile, her head coach, Leah Eames, said Waller is a young and enthusiastic swimmer. She has a positive attitude towards the sport that will keep her
alive, energetic and animated.
Moreover, Leah Eames elucidated she is seeing Waller as the new world champion for the next generation. She said the way Waller has recovered from her cancer, it’s just incredible and that she is training a lot harder than ever before.
One of the most remarkable traits of Waller is her forbearance, resistance, dedication, and passion about the sport. She has high expectations from Grace Waller.
Last but not the least, Grace Waller said, “I just want to inspire others. No matter what, you can still achieve your goals. I think I’m proof of that”.
