Gracia Directa in for a straight second graded success through the Oak Tree Stakes (Fillies And Mares)
The sixth race of the meet today is the Group 3 Oak Tree Stakes (Fillies And Mares). Despite some heavy showers in the morning, the ground conditions of the seven furlongs remain good. The £31,191 prize money race has attracted a line-up of fifteen three-year and above contestants. The field in mixed with entries from different racing forms and shapes.
Gracia Directa, Kyllachy’s four-year-old bay filly, is racing her straight second graded race. Out of the four starts that she undertook during the season, she won through three, a handicap, a listed race and a graded race.
The D. Moser trained won the Eurojackpot-Preis Silberhandicap on 17th May, 2012 at Baden-Baden over seven furlongs. After breaking strongly from the gate, the bay filly gave a hard time to the leader and took lead over 1 ½ furlongs out. She was ridden over when striding into the final furlong but ran on impressively and won by the margin of 2 ½ lengths.
The German bay filly then won the Preis Pfingst – Stutenpreis (Listed Race) on 27th May, 2012 at Hoppegarten over six furlongs.
She soon posed challenge for the rival pair over two furlongs out, was ridden and enjoyed the seventy-five yards lead in the decisive strides and won by the margin of 1 ½ lengths.
She won the race in partnership with jockey, D. Porcu.
Consistency in performance and the trust of the connections got the bay filly out of mare, Glyceria, an entry in a graded race. A rich and successful backing of a listed race and a handicap left little doubt in her capability.
The Rennstall Directa owned won the Group 3 Tyregiant.Com Summer Stakes on 13th July, 2012 at the York race course over six furlongs. Gracia Directa became prominent during the last three furlongs of the race. She led the first two and was ridden over when the last remained. She faced tough competition with, Sioux Rising, in the final furlong and won by the margin of just half a length.
She was ridden to the graded success by jockey, Robert Winston.
The 8 to 1 entry will be paired up with rider, Robert Winston for a second time as the two will break from the twelfth gate.
