Grade help please?

we did a holocaust project and i needed to pick a song to go with it so i picked lost by avenged sevenfold. !!!!before you go on if you dont know the song go look at the lyrics or watch it youtube then procede.!!!! the teacher then proceded to give me a 0 out of 10 in the music section. her comment was "the song was too vulgar and had absolutly nothing to do with the topic." It is not vulgar at all and if you think from an impriosioned person in the holocaust it does resemble many things. was the grade fair? (i just got the grade mailed to me today for some reason.)

No, the grade was not fair. You should call your teacher and ask for her to explain what "vulgar" means; I looked through the lyrics and could find nothing vulgar. Plus the song had EVERYTHING to do with the topic.

...Maybe she confused you with someone else.

...Or maybe she didn't listen to the lyrics at all. Maybe she just hates A7F.

I just read the lyrics to the song and it seems like a perfect choice for the perspective of a person in the Holocaust. What is she thinking? You should call the school and schedule a conference with you, her, and possibly your parents (especially if the 10 points makes a difference in your overall grade).

same thing happened to me for my song project. it's ok. it happens. teachers can be quite unreasonable, but does it have swear words? i know one of my friends failed her memoir essay because it had someone being drunk. the topic, like yours probably, was too extreme or inappropriate for school or something illogical like that.

also, did you have to analyze the song? to show that it DOES have something to do with the topic and DOES have strong ties and connections... it's summer, so i suppose it's too late to argue/discuss with your teacher?? if it hurt your grade significantly, then do complain.
